Toy Beach Residence, Patong Beach
The rooms are quiet OK. But too expensive. Toy Beach Residence is in the centre of Patong and you only have to walk a few minutes to the beach. There are many foreign restaurants near the hotel (from germany, from switzerland, from austria etc.) The stuff was friendly too. But would not like to come bach to Patong. I like Thailand very much, but Patong is not Thailand. But it is a great place to be for people who loves to make party, drinking and enjoy the nightlife.
same same every time. nice and easy

A good little guest house in a great location. Close to the beach and Bangla Road. No joiner fee for overnight guests. Also have a pool available for use across the road if required.
Porn the evening receptionist was great. And the daytime guy (can t remember his name) was also helpful.
A little noisy at times but nothing too bad.
Room cleaned every day.
Do not expect hotel style accommodation but the room is very adequate.
Would stay there again.
No problem

HORRIBLE! The whole description of the place (I cannot bring myself to call it a hotel) is totally misleading. beautiful furniture...best service... BS!! It should be categorised as a low budget, seedy guesthouse. Located in a little alley with a tiny, grimy entrance, we had a hard time locating the place. Definitely NOT a CLEAN street! The photos depicted in the website is nothing even remotely closed to the real thing. The bed was sagging with the spring coils sticking into your back, the window looked into the demolished Soi King Fashion building 10 ft away. Quiet?? If you are thinking of partying until 4am and sleeping in, think again! 9am and the racket starts with banging, hammering and drilling going on 10 ft next to you!
The whole experience at Toy Beach Residence was anything but pleasant or relaxing. We were supposed to check back in on the 25th to 27th after our trip to Koh Phi Phi but after getting in on the 22nd, we decided this just wouldn t do! So we told the old lady at the reception that we were canceling our later booking and would leave the next day. After enduring a crappy night on the lumpy bed, we were told that we had to pay an additional 600 Bht. When asked for the reason, the lady patched me through to the manager, Peter for an explanation. Now this guy is in a class of his own! He went on and on about how Sawadee was not going to pay them the 600 Bht that I had prepaid and that cancellation has to be made 3 days in advance or a penalty fee of 1 night is charged. I tried to discuss the reason for the additional charge as I believed that I had given them 3 days advance notice that I was not coming back on the 25th and that I had already paid for the night we stayed. Unfortunately, he loves the sound of his own voice more than anyone else so he just kept on talking! After this guy rattled on for about 10 minutes on his own, he put the icing on the cake by saying Don t make us call the police! . When I asked him why he was threatening me, he said cause you said you don t want to pay! . Now, either I had a memory lapse or there was someone other than him and I talking, I have never uttered the words I m not paying or anything to that effect. After much Please stop talking and listen to me for a minute , I finally got him to agree that I had said no such thing. Then he had the nerve to say I m actually a nice guy! !! I had to laugh at his perception and misconception of himself. After all the Hey lady this, and Hey lady that! at the top of his voice this guy actually turns around and says he s nice. It was all too much to bear! I just paid the 600 Bht and hightailed out of the place!
For 600 Bht a night, there are hundreds of much better establishments around the vicinity. We found this beautiful little place not far off called Capricorn Village with individual bungalows, full amenities, pool, garden and a comfortable bed all for 594 Bht a night.
I am surprised that Sawadee actually represents this joint. It is quite a blow to their reputation if they wish to be known as a booking service that represents establishments of a good standard.
I eventually went on to have a beautiful holiday but I wish I did not have to had this encounter on my first day in Phuket. Everything was marred by the whole Toy Beach Residence experience which still feels to this day like a fish bone lodge in my throat!

The toy beach residence in in a great location and the staff are very friendly in fact the day manager Porn treated us like family, the toy beach residence is the ideal hotel for the budget traveler, remember that the price is only 600 baht per night and you will understand that you are getting way more than what you are paying for also for the single man this location is great because it is just off bangla rd where all the action is and this hotel does not charge a companion/joiner fee
